It's actually the ugliest XJ I've ever seen ... and sounds awful...like it's missin' or something...probably sounds better running down the road..but the rev's sounded like it was sick. Epic Fail.

I would definitely take the motor! I'd put it in my 2000 Silverado though! Sounded pretty f-ing mean to me. The camera mic seems a little poor quality though. Not getting the "true" sound of it because the mic is probably cutting out from the loudness.

Is that what you have to do to make a XJ cool?

with a propper exhaust, it can sound amazing. maybe it was the quality of the clip (or lack there of?) but I agree it didnt sound too good.

And what does sound good? As much as I hate to say it... factory Mustang GT is the best sounding exhaust ever.

Edit: and I didnt say a woird about the sound untill this post.

I'd bet it was the mic cutting out - but you can't tell me listening to that crappy video that the ls1 sounded good...I've been around ls's enough to know they sound much better than that! haha...but yeah - probably the mic cutting out - good point.

I keep listening and it really sounds like it's backfiring and/or missing to me...

but since you asked - here's what it should sound closer too:

Yeah it does sound a little rough, but when you start stacking twin turbos or superchargers on a motor they usually sound like shit at idle and throttle blipping like they were doing... UNLESS they're set up properly with the right exhaust too. At one point they showed flame shooting out the pipe. That usually means there is way to much fuel that ends up burning in the exhaust pipe. That can make it sound really crappy due to the extra explosions in the crappy exhaust they have.

I agree this one needs a little tweaking and better mufflers. But I'd still take it!

No way.. not a somewhat healthy motor in a vehcle with no frame? No thanks. Not unless that thing was beefedup allot.

Like I said earlier... I'd put the motor in my other truck and scrap the XJ!
I prefer a fullsize with a full frame!

I agree the body looks like crap.... but the idea was there

It would be much cooler as a sleeper...with all the intercooler and shit hidden...pull up to a light in a 4dr XJ with steel stock rims and shit...and eat the lunch of what ever the hell was sitting next to ya...hahaha - that would be fun.

I had a 1978 Plymouth Volare' station wagon with wood grain stickers running down the side that had a 340 Six pack under the hood...torque flight 727 with stall converter .. haha, it looked like it would die rolling backwards and I use to race people all the time from lights and down the highway up to about 145mph...rarely ever lost a race in that piece of shit.
